Abstract: The article discusses a study which determined the feasibility of hyperbaric welding for offshore structural repairs like pipelines and platforms. It explains that linear welds and pipe butt weld experiments were conducted in a hyperbaric welding test chamber that was designed and built in laboratory. The use of hyperbaric gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process on a steel pipe subjected to high air pressure was successfully conducted in the trial.
