Abstract
- The article focuses on the new technology developed by Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIRO) of Australia which can provide non-toxic protective coating over galvanized steel. The alternative coat called Quench Coat is described as an inorganic water-based additive during the quench stage of the galvanizing process instead of the usual chromate used at present. Researchers claim that the new coating technology allows excellent paint adhesion and provides the same anti-corrosion protection against white rust.
