Abstract

The author discusses how telework in U.S. government agencies can move forward. She states that management resistance to the telework initiative is rational but it should not be a permanent obstacle. She suggests that the key to reversing managers' resistance is to make them understand the concept of telework. She explains that telework is a cost-effective means to improve delivery of public services and it can serve as recruitment and retention resource as the demand for work/life balance grows.
