Abstract

The article presents information on a research study which employed theories regarding the potential high school dropout in the U.S. The researchers mention that the factor of space, which refers to institutional practices and symbols that reject the emotional and physical self, plays an essential role in the decisions of students to disengage. They found that the integrated theory serves to better inform individuals who are interested in the dropout issue in the secondary level in the country, specifically the policy makers and school administrators.
