Abstract
- The author explores the possibility of India undertaking a policy of nuclear arms limitation and control. She relates how India, which developed its nuclear arsenal primarily in response to the perceived threat offered by its nuclear-armed neighbor Pakistan, insisted on it being a confidence-building policy. She lists down the reasons why India may not be able to implement measures to ensure the strategic stability of the country without resorting to developing nuclear weapons. She suggests India to work with Pakistan more.
