Abstract

This article discusses streamer fishing which is suited to big fish like Vancouver's large brown trout, noting that streamers or bucktail flies mimic the baitfish that the big fish like to eat. It emphasizes the need for speed and quick movements to be transmitted to the fly so as to accurately imitate the swift darting action of actual live baitfish, to successfully lure the fish to bite. Also discussed are effective pointers and techniques which include using weighted flies to get to the fish level in fast-flowing water, and fishing at night.
