Recently, the production processes for high viscosity polyester are driven by two fast growing market segments - the packing materials especially the PET bottles and the technical yarn production, and new solid and melt phase processes have taken a great advancement, as novel SSP process and direct high viscosity processes without SSP step have already been industrialization successfully. Compared with conventional polycondensation and standard SSP process, new solid and melt phase processes are appreciated because of the economic advantages and flexibility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
