Abstract
- The article discusses the growing need for behavioral safety programs in Indian multinational organizations. It provides the practical steps for implementing a behavior-based safety (BBS) developed from observations made in BBS training interventions. A national action research survey was conducted on 1,650 executives and 713 workers from 57 Indian multinational organizations in diverse industries such as petroleum, steel and cement. It concludes that BBS provides better accident prevention practices and instills workforce stewardship of safety systems.
