Abstract
- The article examines the taxonomic status of taiwanensis by comparing specimens from China and Taiwan with Myotis adversus from Indonesia using two mitochondrial and two nuclear genes. Findings showed that M. taiwanensis differs from M. adversus in external and dental features. The Myotis bats performed three monophylectic groups for both nuclear and mitochondrial concatenated genes and revealed that M. taiwanensis from Taiwan and China is related to M. pilosus than to M. adversus. The result of phylogenetic analysis supports the hypothesis that the Myotis from Taiwan, Anhui and Shandong are not same as M. adversus.
