Abstract: The article discusses the effects of climate and topographic elements on the helicopter operations in Afghanistan. It presents the models of helicopters such as Sea King and Lynx Mk7 and Mk9 which are believed to be the subject of major upgrades. The author presents the development of composite blade by the U.S. company Carson in partnership with Indian Navy as part of the upgrade which is focused on the improvement of the main rotor blade.
