Abstract

The article focuses on the study of dwarf species of day geckos of the genus Phelsuma from the Ankarana Massif in Madagascar. It states that Phelsuma species, a conspicuous lizard was originated in northern Madagascar and probably a sister species of P. laticauda. Snout vent length of 32.6 mm, tail length of 36.4, head width of 6.4 mm, and with a total legth of 62-72 mm. It says that Phelsuma species differ from subspecies P. lineate bombetokensis from northwestern of Madagascar by unkeeld ventrals and subcaudals, the absence of dark lateral spots. P. laticuada group was characterized by being "non-gluers" with subcaudal scales and smooth ventral, three nasals and without contact nostril-rostract. It adds that the distributions of P. laticuad reliably known from their type of locality.
