Abstract
- The article focuses on hospitals' computerized provider order entry (CPOE) in the U.S. to increase the quality of care they provide and health information technology (HIT) by reducing medical errors. According to the author, CPOE has special electronic signature, workflow and rules engine function. The findings of a study show that hospitals with automated CPOE systems have difference in terms of system membership, ownership, and bed set up.
