Abstract
- The article presents a study which determines the effectiveness of allocating conservation resources to manage threatened species in Kerinci Seblat National Park, Indonesia. The study uses Markov decision processes (MDP) to generate optimal strategies and allow management decision for a single population of a threatened species. The study indicates that the uncertainty of the species affects conservation efforts and therefore suggests the necessity of understanding species presence.
