The article reports on the initiative of Gilmer Independent School District in Gilmer, Texas to transform student learning through Specific and strategic, Measurable, Attainable, Results-based, Time-bound (SMART) goals and collaboration among teacher leaders. SMART goals process monitors progress of teacher leaders in improving collaboration time and building shared responsibility. The initiative has led to a more improved student learning and increased rate of progress.
