Abstract: Chapter 9 of the book "Fishing Basics: The Complete Illustrated Guide" is presented. It provides information on fish species along with information on best baits, identifying marks and reproduction. The Bluegill Lepomis macrochirus can be caught using small flies or live baits when fly fishing and still fishing, while a bottom rig baited with live or cut baits is effective for catching Bowfin or dogfish. The Bullhead ictaluras is a bottom feeder that feeds on insects, mostly at night.
