Executive Pay Packages: Compensation Planning in Light of Increased Scrutiny.

The article presents a study on the shift to sustainable long-term value creation from short-term performance of executive compensation in Canada following the economic crisis. The author argues that the tax authorities in Canada are being slow in its response to the shift which hurdles the creation of compensation package aligned to the tax changes. It adds that the slow arrangement of salary rules delays the setting of long-term incentive plan that are needed.
