Abstract
- The article presents information on the work of French historian Alphonse Dupront, specialist of the Middle Ages and of the modern period. Topics include a reflection on what makes the historiographical production of Dupront unique, the influence that philosopher Henri Bergson and writer Charles Péguy had on Dupront, and the myth of crusades in Dupront's work. The theme of a phenomenology of chronology in historical research is explored. The views of Dupront on the methodological debates of his time are mentioned.
