Abstract

The article discusses research that is aimed at establishing the echocardiographic estimation equation of left atrial pressure (LAP) in beagle dogs with experimentally-induced mitral regurgitation (MR). It mentions the usefulness of non-invasive and immediate estimation of LAP for managing the said disorder. It cites the insertion of a radio telemetry transmitter catheter to allow the continuous recordings of LAP without the use of sedation. According to the findings, more precise and instant estimations of maximum and mean LAP in these dogs should be produced by two equations linked with the ratio of early diastolic mitral flow to early diastolic lateral mitral annulus velocity (E/Ea).
