Abstract

The article focuses on the impact of the 2011 revolutions, or uprisings, in Arab countries. It discusses the political aspects of these uprisings and presents a global analysis concerning common characteristics in the Arab world, including a common language, the Islamic religion, and a social conservative system. According to the author, oil income could be one of the major triggering factors for the uprisings. Topics of discussion include the economies of the country of Maghreb, North Africa, and the Machrek region located in the Arab States, the economic unemployment model, and the promotion of Islam as a support system. The Arab spring uprisings in the early 2000s based on economic freedom or dynastic succession in countries including Jordan and Morocco are also discussed.
