Abstract

Abstract: The study has put forward a water pollution management model as a GIS tool in the long-term water projects regulating process and pollution control plan for the Huaihe River Basin in China. In this paper, we applied GIS network analysis technology to water pollution management, which established digital stream network model and river water environmental database, integration and manage of water projects regulating related data resource. This paper designed a stream network analysis platform based on GIS support. Based on algorithms provided in the GIS foundational software such as shortest path analysis, connectivity component analysis, upstream/downstream trace and buffer analysis, we built an algorithm library including water projects regulating-oriented algorithms for upstream/downstream tracking of water pollution.
