Abstract

The article discusses the impact of state anti-predatory lending laws on the foreclosure crisis in America as of December 2011, focusing on an examination of various state subprime mortgage regulations and mortgage lending policies. The risks associated with adjustable-rate mortgage loans are addressed, along with an assessment of mortgage default rates in the U.S. The impact of state mortgage regulations on nationally-chartered banks is also mentioned.
