Abstract: The article discusses a research study on the cancer risk of individuals infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) compared with HIV-uninfected individuals. Study subjects include 215,158 HIV-uninfected individuals and 20,775 HIV-infected persons then obtained rate ratios (RRs) from Poison models then compared the data. Results showed high RRs of HIV-infected individuals for Kaposi sarcoma at 199, Hodgkin lymphoma at 19 and anal cancer at 55.
