Abstract

The article presents a study which analyzed the optimal intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) stent area to predict angiographic in-stent restenosis (ISR) after sirolimus-eluting stent implantation for unprotected left main coronary artery (LM) disease. After intracoronary administration of 0.2 milligrams (mg) nitroglycerin, immediate poststenting IVUS imaging was performed. Bifurcation lesions with a single stent showed a lower restenosis rate similar to nonbifurcation lesions.
