Abstract

The article focuses on the meaning of freedom of conscience for Canadians. As described by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, everyone has the right of freedom of conscience and religion. But the freedom of religion and freedom of conscience are two different rights due to which the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) is expected to provide explanation. International law has provided some guidelines related to it in the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
