Abstract
- An essay is presented that discusses the author's experience of being accidentally placed in a special education high school science class as a result of the U.S. Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975. Also noted are the U.S. No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and its mandates of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and the requirements that students with disabilities make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) under NCLB.
