Abstract

The article reports that Moscow's Manezh Square near the Kremlin in Russia was already filling with thousands of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's supporters to hear his victory speech shortly after preliminary results from the March 4, 2012 presidential election gave Putin a 57% lead. Putin had received 63.75% out of the 99.3% of the votes counted, which was confirmed by Russia's Central Elections Commission (CEC) head Vladimir Churov.
