Abstract

The article presents a study which focuses on the spatial interactions between target species and harvesters shaped by protected areas, and on the determination of animal mortality. The study uses Cox regression analysis to determine the pattern of animal mortality, and multivariate analyses for the reserve's proximity, wherein it located wild boar and hunting dogs in Geneva Basin, France. Results show that hunters' prey-searching strategies on the reserves has high impact on animal mortality.
