Abstract
- The article analyzes physician prescribing behavior taken from Medicaid data to determine the actual impact of the Clinical Antipsychotic Trials of Intervention Effectiveness (CATIE) publication of drug effectiveness trials. Rates of prescribing for olanzapine, aripiprazole, and clozapine before and after CATIE publications are presented to be compared. CATIE publication is cited to have a small effect on the prescribing habits of psychiatrists only.
