Abstract

The article focuses on the failure of the doctrine of the United States Supreme Court between 1953 and 1969 that aimed at expanding the protections of Fourth Amendment in the U.S. Constitution. It also discusses the importance of the doctrinal shift in analysis from Fourth Amendment security to the unreasonableness of police conduct. It also discusses several cases related to Fourth Amendment including Georgia v. Randolph, United States v. Matlock and Schneckloth v. Bustamonte.
