Abstract

The article discusses a study that determined the normal range of the trabeculated to compact myocardium (T/M) in a large population to examine its relationship to demographic and clinical parameters. The study involved 1,000 participants whose T/Ms were measured by MRI. Results of the study showed that a ratio of T/M greater than 2.3 is common suggesting that there may be a need to reevaluate current MR criteria for LV noncompaction.
