An interview with Guy Fache, Sales and Marketing Manager at Mohawk, an U.S. carpet manufacturer, is presented. The main focus of the interview was the establishment of the U.S. company on the German carpet market. The article evaluates the carpet collection "Smart Strand" designed by Mohawk. Other topics mentioned were the design of environmental friendly carpet textiles, interior design of hotels and dwellings, as well as the influence of U.S. aesthetic design on the German market.
