Abstract: The article discusses the increase of the minimum wage in France, Salaire minimum interprofessionnel de croissance (SMIC). French government's decision to reevaluate salaries shall take effect on July 1, 2012. The author cites different fashion and textile professionals according to whom this 2% increase is a disappointment, and will represent only a small part of the employees.
