Abstract

This article discusses the transnational nature of political movements characterized by their extreme nationalism. It looks at the presence of neo-fascist networks for social change. The political and social cohesiveness, organization, and collective identity of such organizations is analyzed in light of their capacity to actually effect mobilization of their supporters into a cohesive social movement. The specific case of Europe and European culture is examined, including the political institutions of the European Union itself.
