Abstract

The article offers information on the establishment of a legislative veto in the U.S. for Jointly Drawing down a Controversial War. It focuses on the issue of the U.S. war with Afghanistan and Iraq. It mentions that the legislative veto allows the reservation of power for vote by the two sides of the U.S. Congress which lets the president to draw down the troop levels while reserving the power to stop the draw down. As mentioned, the legislative veto is not known to the public but the strategy was implemented since from the mid of the 20th century to manage broad initiations of war powers for the president.
