Abstract

The article provides an overview of a study conducted at the ITA of the development of the staple fibre process techniques for experimental biopolymers for the healthcare sector. It discusses how the study was conducted which involved backward planning and establishing process parameters during the spinning line. It offers information on the three methods that were used for texturing of fibres. It concludes that biopolymer filaments were spun into yarns successfully using the rotor spinning machine. Several charts and diagrams depicting data related to the study are also presented.
