Abstract
- The article discusses the reliability of a method to diagnose Brucella (B.) ovis infection in urine samples of naturally infected rams using serology and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results of the study showed that despite low agreement between serology and PCR, the method can be used as a suitable complementary diagnostic tool for identifying B. ovis infection. The method also allows identification of serologically negative rams shedding the organism in the environment.
