Abstract

The article discusses a research study on comparing the safety and efficacy of bivalirudin and heparin with additional glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor (GPI) in patients with elevated non-ST-segment myocardial infarction (MI) after pretreatment with clopidogrel. Study subjects include 3798 patients in the Acute Catheterization and Urgent Intervention Triage Strategy (ACUITY) setting. Results showed superiority of bivalirudin to heparin plus GPI in bleeding reduction.
