- The article discusses the self-deprecating style of humor that arose in Bretagne, France, in the 1990s from an ethnological perspective. Topics mentioned include the jokes about Breton stereotypes that were popular in the high Middle Ages, lists of the types of vocabulary common in Breton humor, and the use of common themes such as poverty, uncleanliness, and stupidity.
