Abstract

The article focuses on the role of architecture and the city in the study of noise and sound. It mentions that noise and sound affect the way people live in the city and their aural substance as proposed by Georg Simmel. It adds that for architecture, noise is a matter of acoustics and of blurred distinction between institutional and social zones.
