Abstract

Presents information on a study which examined the prediction of the effect of short-term or seasonal temperature changes on disease progression of Dermo or Perkinsus marinus in oyster populations from New York State and southern New England. Cycle of Perkinsus marinus infections in oysters in a year; Description of a predictive temperature-disease course model developed for wild and commercial oyster beds; Usefulness of the model to oyster aquaculturists.
