Abstract

The article discusses a study which hypothesized that cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging of regurgitant volume (RVol) is more reproducible than transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). Patients with chronic aortic regurgitation (AR) or mitral regurgitation (MR) underwent TTE and CMR. The results indicate that CMR may be superior for serial measurements due to its lower intraobserver and interobserver variabilities for RVol.
