Abstract

Biomass represents the most important resource for food and energy, in direct link to solar energy. As long as the sun and the plants exist, primary energy shall also exist in sufficiently high quantity for population supply, if ecological relations humans/nature are not worsening. Biomass as renewable energy may grow in agriculture systems, in volume and value, in order to achieve all forms of consumption energy (heat, steam, electric power, fuel), as well as raw materials for all industries based on oil (chemistry, medicines, surfactants, solvents etc.). The success of the operation in Romania supposes technologies, political will and a change in infrastructure. The main research methods are secondary methods, the informational base of the research being the statistical data published by the international organisms, papers and studies published nationally and abroad.
