Abstract
- This paper presents a study of the room acoustics conditions in small shoebox shaped rooms. Barron's model is used to predict room acoustical parameters such as reflected energy, G<subscript>refl</subscript>, and early reflected energy, G<subscript>50refl</subscript>. Measurements were carried out in three small rooms and detailed computer simulations using CATT Acoustic were done for different rooms. Comparisons between these measurements and detailed simulations, and the predictions based on Barron's model, are typically within -1 dB and +1 dB when averaged across a room, from 250 Hz to 2 kHz.
