Abstract

The article presents a report related to a study to examine the absence or presence of the panzootic fungal amphibian pathogen Batracho-chytrium dendrobatidis (Bd), in Lyciasalamandra, the remaining genus of fully terrestrial European salamanders. It mentions that 330 Lyciasalamandra specimens from 12 Turkish populations, covering all known Turkish species were collected to examine the presence of the pathogen, under study. It informs that none of the salamander was found positive for BD in the test. The study concluded that Bd does not occur on Lyciasalamandra in Turkey.
