Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the 2013 DairyNZ Farmers' Forums held in Whangarei, New Zealand. The search for accurate ways of estimating yields for chicory paddocks was reported by Jamie Haultain, while Kristina Mandok addressed the need of cows for more feed for maintenance. According to Haultain, his study revealed that the true yield of chicory swards was about half of what is indicated by a rising platemeter.
