Abstract
- The article discusses a lawsuit in Switzerland in 1938 and 1939 before a civil tribunal in which the daily Parisian newspaper "Paris-Soir" opposed the daily Catholic publication of Geneva, Switzerland, "L'Écho Illustré," for slander. Topics include structural tension between the two press organizations, a comparison of the political aspects of journalism in France and in Switzerland at the beginning of World War II, and the role of language in Swiss publications and newspapers.
