Development and application of a nested RT-PCR assay for detection of avian metapneumovirus subtype B.

The article reports the development of nested Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction way to detect avian metapneumovirus, a virus that infects poultry chickens. It states according to Genbank, a nucleotide sequence database, two primers were prepared. It mentions that a particular base pair was amplified from the RNA of metapneumovirus though it was negative for avian influenza virus (AIV), Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and bronchitis virus (IBV).
