Governmentality and the genealogy of politics.

The author reflects on French philosopher and critical theorist Michel Foucault's book "The Foucault Effect: Studies in Governmentality." He examines some aspects of the philosopher's governmentality lectures which were excluded when the book was published. Other issues he examined include Foucault's discussions of the multiple births of politics and a research agenda to continue Foucault's investigation of governmental rationality and political culture.
