Abstract
- The article focuses on Mark Rothko, a painter who is notable for his large-scale paintings that filled-up the vision of viewers and stimulate their full attention. The pictorial space of Rothko designed to produce the Rothko effect is pointed out. Rothko's anxiousness on the misinterpretation of viewers about his works is noted. The museums where the paintings of Rothko were collected and displayed such as the Marlborough Gallery and the Phillips Collection are mentioned.
