Abstract
- The article presents the results of a study on how the level of vigilance of Black-necked Cranes (Grus nigricollis) is being affected by flock size and position in flock during the winter season. The subject of this study are the Black-necked Cranes wintering at Dashanbao Nature Reserve in southwestern China. The study found that increase in flock size for Black-necked Cranes in winter resulted to increased number of individuals preferring central positions in flock.
